“Author/Blogger Speed Dating”
DC Author Event ~ May 3, 2014
My meeting Priscilla Glenn was a long time in the making! I became a fan of Priscilla’s back when I first read and fell in love with “Back to You”, back before I started blogging and traveling to all these events. This is the first time we were FINALLY able to meet up and she is, as I expected, GREAT! Can’t wait to be able to spend more time with her in the future.
Make sure to check out my Author Speed Dating Interview with Priscilla, all the information about her books & ENTER the GIVEAWAY below! Be sure to check back tomorrow for the next author on the list!
Priscilla Glenn lives in New York with her husband and three children. She has been teaching English Language Arts for the past twelve years while moonlighting as a writer, mom, coach, student, and professional laundry-doer. If you catch her when she’s feeling sophisticated, she’ll tell you her favorite things are great books and good wine. In the moments in between, she’ll admit her love for anything Ben and Jerry’s, UFC fights, and Robert Pattinson. Glenn is the author of the contemporary romance novels Back to You, Emancipating Andie, and Coming Home. You can contact her at firstname.lastname@example.orgGoodreads | Facebook | Twitter In my round of “Author Speed Dating” I asked a series of the same three questions to each author. Question 1: If you could be a character in one of the author’s books that are here, which one would you be and why? Priscilla chose “Cassie” in J. Sterling’s “The Perfect Game”. Priscilla seems to like the fact that Cassie was an anti-swoon girl and I can’t say that I disagree with her. Question 2: If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title would be? “Organized Chaos” – I like it my world is kind of chaos too – but I don’t think I would call mine “Organized” Last but not least (this one seemed to stump mostly everyone): Question 3: You are invited to a large cocktail party at a country club. When you arrive, the room where the party is being held is already over half full of people. How do they react to you when you enter the room? Priscilla thinks that she is a pretty outgoing person and that people would hopefully find her interesting. I certainly do, and I don’t think others would have any trouble either. Have I said what a pleasure it was to finally meet Priscilla?!? When Lauren Monroe first laid eyes on Michael Delaney back in high school, she had every reason to stay away from him; within minutes of their first encounter, his volatile actions confirmed his notorious reputation. But Lauren saw something in him that caused her to question his bad-boy persona, and against her better judgment, she took a chance. She had no way of knowing that the unlikely friendship they formed would become so important to her.Or that it would end so painfully.Eight years later, when Lauren begins her new job at Learn and Grow Day Care, Michael is the last person she expects to see. Refusing to revisit the hurt and confusion of their past, Lauren vows to keep her distance from him. But staying away from Michael proves to be more difficult than she thought, despite her lingering grief and her instincts for self-preservation.As Lauren and Michael recall the friendship that changed them forever and the events that tore them apart, will they finally be able to heal? Or will the ghosts of Michael’s past prove to be too much to overcome? Back to You”, which is one of my favorite reads. I love Priscilla’s writing style it is just so smooth and everything just flows. I am also a huge fan of a love story….and Priscilla has a way of writing one that grabs my attention and keeps me hopeful and leaves me keeping my fingers crossed that they get their happily ever after. “Love with your head, and you’ll be safe. Love with anything else, and you’re in big trouble”Andie is raised to believe to love with your head. So, Andie wants safety, she wants routine, she does not want to step out of the box. She has Colin, who seems to be the best boyfriend, he is attractive, he is sweet and he is stable…..BUT is she loving with her head or something else and is it enough?Ok, let’s talk about Chase…swoon… Colin and Chase are best friends, and they are total opposites. I loved watching the banter between Chase and Andie (and yes, she was a bit uptight!), but I loved watching Chase wear her down and the friendship/relationship develop while Chase helped Andie find herself…..even though she did not know she was looking. As we are back to a love triangle type of story, it was not really angsty for me…at least not to the point of frustration. Which is a plus on this one! The chemistry was certainly there between these two and I could not wait to find out when (and if?) they were going to act on it…..how far does their loyalty go to Colin? Is it worth the risk of losing it all to love with other than your head? This was a great book to curl up to and I would happily recommend it. Priscilla is one of those authors that I will jump to read anything she writes. So, if you have not read a book by Priscilla yet, I recommend that you do that soon! As always, I would love to hear your thoughts! Leah Marino hasn’t been on a date in two years. After discovering the man she loved had manipulated and deceived her, she refuses to even entertain the idea of a relationship. Instead, she focuses her attention on taking care of her family, a role she’s assumed since the death of her mother and the one place she knows her kindness won’t be taken advantage of again. When a nostalgic trip back to her childhood home results in a chance encounter with Danny DeLuca, a smart-mouthed mechanic who’s as attractive as he is mysterious, Leah’s carefully cultivated walls begin to crumble. She finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Danny, despite his unreliable behavior and mixed signals. But Danny has a secret…One that could shake Leah’s already precarious foundation and bring her world crashing down around her. Suddenly, she’s faced with an incredibly difficult decision–is she willing to risk everything for the chance at finding the love she’s always wanted? Or are some obstacles just too big for the heart to overcome? a Rafflecopter giveaway
