Next up for today’s spotlight from the author’s that participated in the DC Author Event “Author/Blogger Speed Dating” last weekend.  Have you downloaded Luke Young’s books yet? Started reading them yet?  I have read the prequel so far to this series “Friends Wanting Benefits” – and I will say again how much I LOVED this story and I can’t not wait to dig in the rest of them. My only regret was that I did not start them sooner!

I was lucky enough to be Luke’s assistant at the DC Author Event and am happy to report to you that he is a really great guy!  I am still trying to process that a man wrote this series! Read it and you will understand why.

Luke brought Greg Audino with him to the event, Greg is the actor that is featured in the “short film” below – which is a scene from Friends with Partial Benefits.

Luke YoungLuke Young is the Kindle-bestselling author of the Friends With Benefits series as well as the novel Shrinkage.Young’s Friends With Benefits novels are filled with passion, longing, comedy, and, yes, sex. His relationship comedies feature strong, sexy female characters — women who seize every opportunity for fun and don’t let a little thing like age stand in the way of love or desire. In each book Young sets different wheels in motion, applying his comedic touch and pitch-perfect ear for playful couples’ banter. The result is warm, funny, sexy storytelling at its best.Young got his start writing screenplays, which earned the praise of contest judges while never quite making it to the “green light.” He adapted his second screenplay into a novel and found himself hooked on the new form. Since then, he’s released five novels, one novella, and one short story.
Young’s prolific nature is a gift to fans across the globe who have enthusiastically embraced the Friends With Benefits series. This fan support has driven the books up the Kindle bestseller lists. If you enjoy romance, sex, and unexpected hilarity, you will love Young’s books.
Young also writes “spicier” books under the pen name Ian Dalton. If you like your sexy comedy heavy on the sexy, be sure to check out Dalton’s Victoria Wilde series. If you’re not sure, find out more

In my round of “Author Speed Dating” I asked a series of the same three questions to each author.

Question 1:  If you could be a character in one of the author’s books that are here, which one would you be and why?

Luke would be Ethan from his “Friends Wanting Benefits”, because Victoria would be just about the best cruise roommate a guy could ask for.  I would have have to say the same thing about Ethan! You will have to read this book to find out why!

Question 2:  If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title would be?

“I don’t know how he does it and neither does he”   – LOL clever

Last but not least (this one seemed to stump mostly everyone):

Question 3:  You are invited to a large cocktail party at a country club. When you arrive, the room where the party is being held is already over half full of people. How do they react to you when you enter the room?

Luke thinks that they would look past him trying to spot his wife who’s usually the life of the party  – Maybe it is true what they say….. “behind every good man is a better woman”  🙂

I am thrilled that I was asked to be a part of this tour and even more excited to share it with you today.  I had this series on my to read list for a while now and when i heard that there was a Prequel and I could jump in to this series and not spoiling any of the other books, I was easily sold.  My only regret is that I did not pick it up sooner… now I can’t wait to continue reading all the rest!  I had heard many great things about this series and now, I can tell you for myself how much I am looking forward to reading this whole series and EVERYTHING else like it by Luke!
Friends Wanting Benefits is the perfect mix of comedy with spice.   I love that Luke Young had the ability to pull off this series in a genre dominated by women authors.  Spicy and funny (but not being creepy LOL) all wrapped into one with a surprisingly accurate look into a lot of women’s minds (I kept forgetting that a man wrote the book as I was reading). I can’t wait to read MORE!  I love Tara Sivec and Alice Clayton and Luke’s humor is certainly up there.
Another great thing about this book and series are that the women characters we are reading about are not in their teens or 20′ somethings…. well, we may get some eye candy that is, but the female leads are closer to my stage in life (as I am nearing 40).  I believe they say that 40 is the new 20 or something like that!  You will love these fantastic and hysterical ladies.  I have to admit that I may know some ladies very much like them.  Better yet, a little fun for the reader in us all, Jillian (one of the main characters) is an author and is on this cruise for an author signing event ~ which is what brings these two fab ladies, Jillian and Victoria, together in the first place.
My goal is to make sure more people find out about this FANTASTIC series and I will do my best to help spread the word! So, pick up your copy today.
